MJ from Muddy Rooter is Awesome. Very responsive and I feel that is Just as important as doing a good job which he also did. Repiped my Entire Condo at a reasonable price and was trusting enough for me to hand key from start to finish. Highly recommend.

Warning Signs
A water heater usually gives warning before it fails, and catching the signs early can mean the difference between a repair and a flooded closet.

Questions
Common signs are no hot water, water that never gets hot enough, rumbling or popping noises, and water pooling around the base. A rotten egg smell in only the hot water can also point to the heater. If a pipe or valve is the cause, plumbing repair may cover it.
Age is the main clue. A heater near the end of its life is often better replaced than repaired, while a newer heater with one failed part is often worth repairing. When you replace, a tankless water heater is another option.
The size and type of the heater, whether it runs on gas or electricity, which part has failed, and how easy the unit is to reach all change the price. A gas heater may also need work on its gas lines. Get a free estimate
Georgia's extension service recommends testing the temperature and pressure relief valve and checking the heater for leaks and corrosion. Flushing built-up scale on a regular schedule also helps, and a lower temperature setting reduces how much scale forms. Leak detection can trace any leak you find.
Permit rules for replacing a water heater are set locally by each city or county. Ask your local building department before the work starts, and ask what the permit fee is.
